Paneer Makhani Recipe

Follow this recipe to prepare a delicious Paneer Makhani, a popular Indian dish made with paneer (Indian cottage cheese) simmered in a creamy tomato-based sauce.

Equipment

  • 1 Non-stick pan For cooking the gravy
  • 1 Blender For pureeing the tomato mixture

Ingredients
  

  • 200 g Paneer Cut into cubes
  • 3 tbsp Butter
  • 1 cup Tomato puree Freshly prepared
  • 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri red chili powder For color
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • 1/2 cup Fresh cream
  • to taste Salt

Instructions
 

  • Heat butter in a pan, add ginger garlic paste, and sauté for a minute.
  • Add tomato puree, red chili powder, and cook until oil separates.
  • Add 1 cup of water, salt, and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  • Blend the mixture to a smooth consistency and strain back into the pan.
  • Add paneer cubes, garam masala, and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Stir in fresh cream and remove from heat.
  • Serve hot garnished with cream and coriander leaves.

Notes

For a vegan version, substitute paneer with tofu and cream with coconut cream.
